Do you have fines (THAT ARE NOT DUI or SEAT BELT VIOLATIONS) and/or court fees on any charges? You have an opportunity to pay a portion of your fees with school supplies. School Supplies for Fines will take place June 30 through July 18, 2025. This program is available one time only per defendant, no matter how many cases you have in Shawnee - no exceptions.

Here is how School Supplies for Fines works:

• Shawnee Municipal Court will grant you a credit towards your fines and/or court fees if you bring in new school supplies. School Supplies MUST be original packaging, along with a receipt to show proof of purchase and the amount paid. $15 of school supplies for $50 credit, UP TO A MAXIMUM OF $60 of school supplies, which credits $200 towards your fines. You get more than double the credit towards fines and court fees.
  
  • Your fine and fees total $130. Provide a receipt showing $15 worth of school supplies, receive a $50 credit towards your fines and fees, and you will have a balance of $80 to pay and help support an elementary student.
    
    
• If you choose to take advantage of this opportunity, You MUST appear in person at Shawnee Municipal Court with the receipt and the school supplies. If you have an established payment plan this can go towards your current monthly payment.
  
  
• If the citation has a total amount due and none of the offenses requires a mandatory appearance in court, you may be eligible to apply this option for an amendment fee. This is at the discretion of the prosecutors and you need to consult the court clerks to discuss this option.
