Police Canine Champ is a Belgian Malinois and started his tenure with the Shawnee Police Department in June 2025. After a twelve-week basic canine handler course with Officer Joshua Swanbeck, Champ was certified with the National Police Canine Association in narcotics detection and patrol skills.
