Shawnee Parks & Recreation Scholarship Fund

The City is committed to providing quality recreational opportunities to all residents.

The Recreation Scholarship Fund was created to help residents participate in department activities and programs regardless of their economic condition. Shawnee residents who qualify for financial assistance may apply for limited scholarship funds to offset the registration cost of many of our classes, programs, and memberships.

A maximum of $100 per resident family is available during a 12 month period. A maximum of 50% funding is available per class, program or activity. To learn more about the program or to apply for assistance please call 913.631.5200 or stop by the Shawnee Civic Centre.

Camp Shawnee Scholarship Fund

This funding allows Shawnee Parks & Recreation to provide financial assistance to families who need it most, helping ensure children can participate in Camp Shawnee for the full summer. Scholarships are available to qualifying Shawnee residents based on household income guidelines established by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and are applied after enrollment is secured.

How will my scholarship be administered?
If qualified, the credit will be applied to your household account for your child(ren)'s Camp Shawnee enrollment. You will be notified of scholarship acceptance via email.
