Baseball and Sport Fields

The City has a number of beautiful parks with a variety of baseball and multi-use sports fields for use by the public. These fields are available by reservation and permit for team practices or other scheduled recreational activities. Sports fields are suitable for practicing football, soccer, rugby, and other field sports. When the fields are not reserved they are available on a first come first served basis. Baseball fields are open March 1 - October 31. Fields are available for rental or first come, first serve when not reserved. Shawnee runs two lotteries per yer for field rental. Coaches with a minimum of 50% Shawnee residents on their team can register for the lottery. All reservations must be made in person at the Shawnee Civic Centre, 13817 Johnson Drive between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. All field request forms must be accompanied with a complete team roster including all players names, ages, and addresses.
  • Coaches can register for the Spring/Summer (March 1-July 31) lottery beginning on the first business day in January for $5.00. Spring/Summer lottery registration closes the third Friday in February at noon.Coaches will be notified of the lottery results and will then come in person to reserve fields on the fourth Friday in February.
  • Shawnee teams can begin reserving for the Fall season (August 1-October 31)  beginning on the fourth Friday in July at 8:00am. 
  • Non-resident teams can reserve fields beginning March 15 for the Spring/Summer season and August 1 for the Fall season.
  • Each rental is a 90 minute time slot.
  • The cost is $10.00 per rental.
  • Weekday rentals are from 3:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Weekend rentals are from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Each team can reserve one time slot during the week and one time slot on the weekend.
