Drug Testing

All seasonal employees must complete a drug test. Drug testing begins on March 30th. Drug testing must be completed five business days prior to attending orientation. You can complete your drug test at Fastest Labs Bonner Springs (134 North 130 St Suite C2, Bonner Springs, KS 66012) or Fastest Labs Lenexa (15036 W 106th St Lenexa, KS 66215).

2026 Shawnee Pool Staff Training Dates

Be sure to call the Civic Centre at (913) 631-5200 to sign up for all certification classes!
 

All Staff


  • The City required Orientation will be held on April 18, 2026 at Shawnee City Hall, 11110 Johnson Drive. To attend the training, you must have completed all paperwork as well as taken the drug test by April 14th. This is a paid training.
Concession/Front Desk Dates

Cashiers and Conession Staff must attend BOTH trainings:

Lifeguards Dates

NEW LG Classes (Only choose the one you can fully attend)

  • March 14, 2:00-3:00pm and March 16-20, 9:00am-4:00pm
  • April 4-19 (Class will meet on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays - Times Vary)
  • May 2-17  (Class will meet on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays - Times Vary)

LG Review (you must complete online section)

  • May 22  |  9am-4pm
    All Lifeguards Certified in 2024 need to complete Review

 You must attend BOTH EAPs.  There will be no make-up:

CPR Certification
All staff must be CPR/First Aid Certified. If you need certification, register online or over the phone at 913.631.5200. If you are already certified, please provide your certification to Riki. Class sizes are limited.
