Garrett Park Renovations
Begins June 1, 2025
Garrett Park will close for renovations on June 1, 2025. Planned improvements include a new playground, updated baseball field fencing and backstop, upgraded irrigation and infield, partial trail replacement, renovated restrooms, new pickleball courts, and outdoor workout equipment. The workout equipment will be located off Monticello, where the smaller playground currently stands.
The new playground will feature the Volo Aire by Landscape Structures—a three-story structure with both a winding ramp and a vertical climber to the top. Additional features will include two in-ground bouncers, a playhouse designed for children ages 2–5, a saucer swing, a traditional swing, and an inclusive swing. Excited about the new playground? You can explore the Volo Aire online!
Due to age and deterioration, the former Garrett house was removed in 2024. In its place, a new shelter will be constructed using salvaged materials from the original home, including stone and wood. The new bistro-style shelter will follow the original house’s footprint, giving visitors a chance to experience the layout and legacy of this historic site. Be sure to look for the detailed masonry work on the fireplace, which will reflect the signature style of the Garrett family.
This project is expected to be completed at the end of 2025.
Funding from the Parks & Pipes sales tax made this project possible.
