Fire Station #73

Fire Station 73 was originally built in 1987 at 6805 Hedge Lane Terrace to accommodate growth in the western portion of the City. With residential and commercial growth, this area still has a large agricultural base and has wild land near the Kaw River. Station 73 houses our second aerial apparatus, a 107' Pierce Truck. Additionally, a second Ford F-550 Brush truck is stationed here to help manage any wild land fire incidents that occur. Shawnee has many miles of paved trails which can create access issues when there is need for emergency care on the trail. Shawnee has an ATV stocked with a full complement of EMS equipment kept at this station. Station 73 is also home to a Johnson County Med-Act paramedic ambulance with two personnel.
