Q: What is your position and how long have you been with the City?
A: My current position with the City is the Aquatics Specialist. I have worked for the City for 10 years now. I started as a Lifeguard in the summer of 2013 and since then I have stuck with the City and worked my way up to where I am now as of September 2022.
Q: What are some of the main responsibilities of your job?
A: My main job responsibilities include the management of all aquatics facilities and programs within Shawnee. I supervise, hire and help train all aquatics staff.
Q: What do you love about your department?
A: The best part about aquatics is by far the people. The pool staff is what makes work so fun every day and what keeps people coming back to Shawnee year after year. Also, who doesn't want a job that lets you hang out outside at a pool all day?
