Community Police Advisory Board
The City of Shawnee is always looking for new ways to connect with our community and get YOU involved. We hope you consider applying to serve on our newly formed Community Police Advisory Board.

Members will be asked to advise on the investigations of complaints regarding racial and other biased-based policing and aid in policy development and community outreach in this area.

The Community Police Advisory Board will meet at least quarterly. It will be made up of members appointed by the Mayor with consent of the Council. Members will be asked to serve four-year terms.

We are looking for a diverse group of people to make up our new Community Police Advisory Board.

We are looking for people to help create a canvas for the City to embrace and showcase public art that reflects our community. That will include things like recommending locations and criteria for new public art, giving advice on funding strategies and weaving our City’s history into public art.

Once formed, the Shawnee Public Arts Task Force will meet monthly for at least one year.

Community Engagement Task Force
“Great communication begins with connection.” Oprah Winfrey made that powerful statement once and, at the City of Shawnee, we completely agree with it!

Communication and engagement will be the focus of the City’s new Community Engagement Task Force, and we need YOUR help!

We are looking for members to make recommendations on a number of items including marketing and public communications, engagement opportunities, inclusivity and diversity and employee recruitment and retention.
