Celebrate the Holidays at Christkindlmarkt
Posted on 10/22/2018
The holidays will be in full swing in downtown Shawnee on Saturday, December 1st. This annual holiday event, formerly known as Christmas Around Town, is free and has something for the entire family to enjoy. The festivities get started at 2pm at City Hall (11110 Johnson Drive) with out Sister Cities Christkindlmarkt, live entertainment, kids' crafts, fruit cake races and Santa to hear your child's Christmas wishes. Our emcee this year is KSHB 41 Action News Sports Director Mick Shaffer, who is a proud Shawnee resident!

Stop in at our downtown Shawnee businesses that will have even more fun activities including food trucks, sing-alongs with carolers, face painting, balloon artists, LIVE REINDEER and more!

Make your way back to City Hall at 5:30pm when Mayor Michelle Distler will be joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus to present the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund to Shawnee Community Services. We'll cap off the night by lighting the Mayor's Christmas Tree!
