How Can I Be a Good American?

You can be a good American just by respecting the Pledge of Allegiance and supporting the military. There are so many ways you can be a good American, but you must make a choice.
One way to be a good American is by treating everyone equally. The society we are in
people do not treat each other equally. We think we are better than others just because of the way they look but that does not change anything. People are thinking that if they wear this or have that, certain people will “like” them or “accept” them. We should not have to do that. We should treat everyone the way we would want to be treated no matter what they look like or how they act. This is being a good American.
You can honor those who have died for our country and who still serve in the military.
The people who go into the military are sacrificing their lives. All military people should be
treated with respect. When they go into the military, they take an oath to defend our country. They are putting their lives on the line. We should say thank you and appreciate their sacrifice.
A big part of how you can be a good American is by volunteering to work and help. It
may not seem big, but people really appreciate this. You could go and volunteer at a homeless shelter and supply food and clothes for the homeless. You can go and volunteer to do work in the community. You can go pick up trash or help pick up someone's yard. Small things will make a big impact on anyone. The simple act of helping a lady put her groceries in her car could make her day.
Being a good American can be easy and hard. It is hard to make a choice to step up for
what is right or sit there and be quiet. In our society today there is so much trouble and we need more people to make a choice to be a good American. So, we should make a choice to either sit here, and let bad things keep happening or step up and stand up for what is right. We should choose to be a good American.
