Public Works Department
The Public Works Department is comprised of the following four divisions:
Codes Administration
Responsible for
ensuring that new construction on private property complies with all
municipal construction codes, issues
building permits, plan review, building inspections, and property maintenance ordinance enforcement.
Field Operations
Responsible for all public maintenance activities on public right-of-ways
along with maintenance of public stormwater drainage facilities.
Stormwater
Responsible for the Stormwater Management Program which includes FEMA
Floodplain issues, Watershed Studies, Stormwater Utility issues,
Floodplain Development Permits, NPDES Ph II Compliance, Stormwater
Pollution Prevention, Stormwater Maintenance Inspections and Contract
Repairs, Stormwater Improvement Project Planning to reduce flooding
problems, and other related issues.
Traffic
Oversees
the maintenance and inspection of thousands of City signs, miles of
pavement markings, streetlights, flashing beacons, and traffic signals.
