The Shawnee Police Department Crime Prevention Unit is available to help you with concerns you may have regarding the prevention of crime and many different safety topics. To assist you, the unit has our ACPI certified crime prevention specialist, who is also CPTED certified.  Whether it involves your home, apartment or business, the officers can give you information to help protect your from becoming a victim.

The unit offers many ways to assist you:

  • Security survey of home or business
  • Robbery Prevention programs
  • Child ID
  • Safety presentations to your group

Security Survey of your Home or Business

This is a service available to Shawnee residents and businesses. Our crime prevention officer will come out and conduct a 30-45 minute survey of your property. Afterward, recommendations of changes you might want to consider  to improve the safety and security of your home or business will be made. Some of the areas addressed are door and window locks, exterior lighting, landscaping and general security practices. There is no charge for this service.
