Cheryl Scott was sworn into office as Councilmember for Ward I in April 2004. Cheryl moved to Shawnee in 1966.  She is married to Bob Scott, and has one married daughter, Laura Hummell and one grandson, Jake, who reside in Anthem, Arizona.

Cheryl Scott graduated from Wyandotte High School, class of 1963 - National Honor Society.  She was formerly a partner and secretary / treasurer of Jayhawk Millwright in Kansas City, Kansas, which custom designs, fabricates and installs machinery and conveying systems. Her business expertise is in accounting.

Cheryl Scott served on the Shawnee Parks and Recreation Advisory Board from 2003 to 2004.  She has been involved within the community with the Sister City Committee, Old Shawnee Days, the Barbeque Contest, and the Irish-American and German-American Clubs.

Civic organizations past and present include the Shawnee Jaycees, the Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Council, the Johnson County Solid Waste Council, and the Shawnee Convention and Visitors Bureau.
