Fire Department Mission Statement

MISSION: The Shawnee Fire Department is a dedicated workforce striving for excellence in community safety and emergency services. Our motto is:

VISION: We, the members of the Shawnee Fire Department, share a vision of providing quality and timely emergency services to our community. To be successful, we must embrace the following:

• LEADERSHIP: We will foster the leadership ability in all our members by providing opportunities for growth and success. Our leaders will maintain focus on the vision we have created.

• COMMUNICATION: We will ensure clear and open communication, as it is the cornerstone of a progressive and growing department.

• STAFFING: We will continue aggressive planning and response preparation and supply proper levels of staffing to safely meet these goals.

• EQUIPMENT: We will continue to provide safe and reliable equipment to meet our strategic needs.

• TRAINING: We will provide progressive safe training programs that are consistent throughout the organization.

• PUBLIC RELATIONS: We will enhance our positive presence in the community through thoughtful and active education programs utilizing an “our family helping your family” approach.

• INSPECTIONS: We will maintain a professional relationship with our business community and ensure adequate staffing to meet the growing needs of this division.
