Shawnee CityRide
CityRide
is a bus transportation service, targeting seniors, that operates on
Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The fare for services
is $1.00 for all day. Riders can either catch the CityRide at one of the
designated time points listed on the schedule or call to have the bus pick
them up at their curb by reservation. Anyone within the City limits of
Shawnee may request a curbside pick-up by calling 913-397-7300 at least 24
hours in advance.
The East Loop designated pick-up locations in Shawnee are: Bluejacket
Lodge, Shawnee Civic Centre and Johnson County Library, HyVee, Shawnee
Station with stops at any of the stores there. The Wal-Mart stopping point
is a transfer point also. Riders can transfer to the West Loop. The West
Loop includes time point stops at Town and Country Villas, Shawnee
Crossing at the Shawnee Mission Outpatient Care building, Wyndam Place
Apartments, Shawnee Station, Monticello Village at the Dillon’s Store, and
Oak Valley Shopping Center at Price Chopper. Riders 12 years of age and
younger will need to be accompanied by an adult.
This program is a funded by a partnership between the City, Johnson County
Transit, and local businesses. Private financial contributors are Mr.
Goodcents, E.J. Straub/Town & Country Villas, HyVee, Monticello Village
Shopping Center, Oak Valley Shopping Center, Shawnee Crossings and
Wal-Mart Supercenter.
