Water Conditioning Contractors PermitSections 12-3601 through 12-3604 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated defines a Water Conditioning Contractor as any person, firm, co partnership, association or corporation which engages in the business of installing, servicing or repairing water conditioning equipment. Water Conditioning Equipment is any water conditioning device, such as filters, softeners, hypochlorinators, aerators, chemical feeders, associated equipment and the like used in connection with the conditioning of water. RegulationsIt is unlawful for a water conditioning contractor to engage in business without registering with the city. The City Clerks Department shall issue a certificate of registration provided that the contractor shows proof of registration in another city in this State. The Clerk shall issue a certificate if the contractor has not been convicted of a felony or any crime involving moral turpitude or fraud, deception or misrepresentation; been refused a certificate in another jurisdiction; knowingly given any false statement in his or her registration. It shall be unlawful for a water conditioning contractor to engage in business in the state of Kansas without insurance and bond. Every contractor shall be required to maintain general liability and product liability insurance in the minimum of fifty thousand dollars. Each contractor shall also furnish to the clerk of the first city in which the contractor registers an acceptable surety bond in the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars. FeesThe fee is $100.00 per application and is due at the time application is made. |
