Fireworks Display Permit

The possession, manufacture, storage, sale handling and use of fireworks are prohibited without a valid fireworks display permit. The City has adopted the 2003 International Fire Code regulating fireworks.

Regulations

  • Fill out Business License Application.
  • Fill out and submit Fireworks Display Application (pdf).
  • Furnish a certificate of insurance in the minimum amount of $1,000,000 for the payment of all damages to persons or property by the permitted display. For the exact insurance certificate amount contact the Fire Marshal at (913) 631-1080.

Applications

An application, copy of insurance and fee must be submitted by mail or in person at least 10 days before event. Submit to Licensing Division, 11110 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.

Fees

  • Firework permit fee $15.00

Anyone conducting a fireworks display in the City of Shawnee is required to have a fireworks permit.
