Bowling Alley Permit

Chapter 5.20 of the Shawnee Municipal Code regulates the operation or maintenance in the city any billiard or pocket billiard hall or poolroom or place where billiards or pocket billiards or pool may be played, or any bowling alley, without first having procured a license therefore from the City.

Regulations

No license shall be issued to any person who has been convicted, with the last five years prior to the date of application, of violating any of the prohibitory liquor laws, gambling laws or laws involving moral turpitude of the state or city, or who has been convicted of permitting any child under the age of sixteen to work, loaf, play or loiter in any billiard room or poolroom while not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

No person operating any billiard or pool hall in the City shall construct or permit any screen or division wall, or obstruction of any kind, the purpose of which is to obstruct the view of person who enters such billiard or pool hall from any persons who may be playing billiards or pool or any other games within such hall.

Fees

The fee is $100.00 plus $25.00 for every alley over one and is due at the time application is made.
