Automatic Amusement Devices Distributor Permit

Chapter 5.16 of the Shawnee Municipal Code license’s, regulates and controls the operation of automatic amusement devices for the purpose of making a profit. Automatic Amusement Distributor means any person, excepting an operator, who owns, controls, manages or has possession of any automatic amusement device. An operator is any person in possession of the premises on which any automatic amusement device is placed or kept for operation.

Regulations

It is unlawful for any person to distribute an automatic amusement device located within the city without first obtaining the required permit from the City Clerk's Department.

Application for a distributor’s permit shall contain: name and address of the applicant; name under which the applicant does business; the name and address of each operator in the city of automatic amusement devices distributed by the applicant; and a list of each automatic device including for each, the type and serial number.

Fees

The fee is $200.00 per application and is due at the time application is made.

Automatic Amusement Device Permit

Chapter 5.16 of the Shawnee Municipal Code license’s, regulates and controls the operation of automatic amusement devices for the purpose of making a profit. Automatic amusement devices means any machine which upon the insertion of a coin, slug, token, plate or disc, may be operated by the public generally for use as a game, entertainment or amusement, whether or not registering a score, including but not limited to, such devices as marble machines, pinball machines, skill ball, mechanical grab machines, and all games, operations or transactions similar thereto under whatever name they be indicated. It includes video-type games or machines, or similar devices that use a display screen for points, lines and dots of light that can be manipulated to simulate games or other types of entertainment. Automatic amusement devices does not include coin-operated riding machines, jukeboxes, or other types of machines that play recorded music, television sets, or any other machine which is not subject to control and manipulation by the person using the machine.
