Buckle Up
The Police Department will join other Kansas law enforcement agencies beginning on March 5th to stop what has been an epidemic for the past several years. In 2010, 51 teens lost their lives due to car crashes in Kansas; 75% of those killed were not wearing seat belts.
In an effort to change this trend, law enforcement officers across Kansas will be extra-vigilant when patrolling around schools and pay particular attention to unrestrained occupants. Officers will issue a citation to any individual not wearing his/her seat belt. Please slow down, put the phone away, and always buckle up!
