2012 General Election

On Tuesday, April 3rd from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. the City will hold a General Election for the Mayor and one Councilmember from each of our four wards. Each elector in Shawnee will vote for Mayor and a Councilmember for their specific Ward.

The candidates are:

Mayor: Eric Jenkins or Jeff Meyers

Ward I: Charles W. Macheers or Jim Neighbor

Ward II: Mike Kemmling or Neal L. Sawyer

Ward III: James Ferris or Dawn Kuhn

Ward IV: Dylan R. McAfee or Michael (Mickey) Sandifer

To check to make sure you are registered to vote, or to check that your voter registration is up to date please visit https://voter.jocoelection.org/Search.aspx. This voter search will also provide information about your polling location and your current elected representatives.

The last day to register to vote or to update your registration information for the General Election is Tuesday, March 13th. To register to vote on-line, or to get a printable voter registration form that you can print, fill out, and send to the Johnson County Election Office please visit https://www.kdor.org/voterregistration/. You can also register to vote at the City Clerk’s Office inside Shawnee City Hall.

Not sure you can make it to the polls on April 3rd? Johnson County offers Advance Voting by mail and in person. Advance Voting by mail begins 20 days prior to each election. Beginning March 27th the Johnson County Election office will be offering in-person Advance Voting at the Johnson County Election Office. To get an application to request a mail ballot, or to get dates and times of in-person Advance Voting, or for more general information about advance voting please visit http://www.jocoelection.org/voters/AdvanceVoting.htm.
