E-Mail Jeff Meyers

Jeff Meyers was sworn into office as Mayor April 2004. He was re-elected Mayor in April 2008.  He previously served on the City Council as a Ward III Councilmember from April 2000 to 2004 and as a Ward II Councilmember from April 1993 to 1998.  In July 1998, he resigned his position because his family moved from Ward II to Ward III.  He has served on the Finance & Administration and Public Works and Safety Committees.  Prior to becoming a Councilmember, he was member and Chairperson of the Shawnee Board of Zoning Appeals.  He served as Chairperson of the Public Works and Safety Committee in 1995-1996 and Council President from 1997-1998.

Mr. Meyers is currently a teacher and head football coach at Olathe East High School.  Mr. Meyers received his B.S. degree in Secondary Education from Kansas State University.  In Shawnee, he is active in the Knights of Columbus.  He is a past Grand Knight and "Knight of the Year" recipient, and also was awarded the Shawnee Jaycees "Outstanding Young Citizen of the Year".
