|The Shawnee City Council held its regular meeting on Monday, December 12, 2016. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and the following actions were taken.|
The Consent Agenda was approved and included the following items:
Jesse Miguel and Jim Roberts were reappointed to the Bicycle Advisory Committee with terms expiring on December 31, 2019. The board consists of five members, all of whom are active bicyclists, with at least four Shawnee residents. The committee monitors the community's bicycle friendly status, and makes recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The board meets four times per year. Members serve a two year term.
Property was conveyed to David Hoehn and the Johnson County Parks and Recreation District for the implementation of a Railroad Quiet Zone at 73rd and 75th and Martindale.
A Massage Establishment license was approved for Caring Hands Massage, located at 11801 W 62nd Place. The business plans to open in January 2017.

Two Streetlight Petitions were approved.
The 2017 State Legislative Plan was approved.
Ordinance No. 3178 was passed amending Chapter 2.48 of the Shawnee Municipal Code related to the Civil Service Commission. Three Policy Statement Codes were revised (PS-30, Rental Policy for the Civic Centre and Shawnee Town Facilities; PS-31, Open Gym; and PS-45, Fees for Shawnee Aquatic Centers), and an agreement with Swallow Tail LLC was approved for wetland mitigation credits for the Clear Creek Parkway Project, P.N. 3413.
Miscellaneous Council Items
Lastly, the semi-monthly claims for December 12, 2016 (city-wide expenses for the period) were approved and the Governing Body held an executive session to discuss property acquisition. The meeting adjourned at 8:06 p.m.
