D. NEW BUSINESS 1. BZA-02-17-02; CONSIDER A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE FROM SMC SECTION 17.20.050 (D2) TO ALLOW ENCROACHMENT WITHIN THE 30-FOOT REAR YARD SETBACK REQUIRED IN THE R-1 (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) ZONING DISTRICT. THE REQUEST IS TO ALLOW A COVERED PORCH ONTO THE REAR OF THE HOME. THE SUBJECT PROPERTY FOR THIS REQUESTED VARIANCE IS LOCATED AT 20926 W. 68TH TERRACE. D & D BUILDERS, CONTRACTOR, SUBMITS THE APPLICATION.

BZA-03-17-02; VARIANCE REQUEST FROM SMC SECTION 17.38.040 (D1) TO REDUCE THE REQUIRED FRONT YARD SETBACK FROM 40 FEET DOWN TO 33 FEET FOR A PORTION OF A GASOLINE CANOPY IN THE CN (COMMERCIAL NEIGHBORHOOD) ZONE. THE APPLICANT ALSO REQUESTS A VARIANCE FROM SMC SECTION 17.70.020 TO REDUCE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN A COMMERCIAL PARKING LOT AND A SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE FROM 30 FEET DOWN TO 13 FEET. THE SUBJECT PROPERTY IS LOCATED AT 11915 JOHNSON DRIVE. APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY MR. DANIEL CHAMBERS FOR THE QUIK TRIP CORPORATION, DEVELOPER.
