|The Shawnee City Council held its regular meeting on Monday, February 27, 2017. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and the following actions were taken.|
The Consent Agenda was approved and included:
An Excise Tax Abatement Agreement with Riverview Land Development Company was approved. The company is developing property at 47th Street and Millridge.
An Excise Tax Abatement Agreement with LDR Plus 3, LLC, was approved. The company is developing property in the 21300 Block of W. 65th Street.
Resolution No. 1795 was adopted. It amends Resolution No. 1787 related to Bonds for the Nieman South Stormwater Improvement Project, P.N. 3400.
Resolution No. 1796 was adopted. It sets the date and time for the sale of General Obligation Bonds in the approximate amount of $9,615,000.
Resolution No. 1797 was adopted. It consents to the sublease of a portion of the Airtex, Inc. project.
The 2017 Mill and Overlay contract was approved with McAnany Construction for $6,985,191.
The 2017 Mowing contract was approved with Kansas Land Management for 186,170.32.
Final plans for the Civic Centre Gym Roof Replacement project were approved and staff was authorized to advertise the project for bids.
Final plans for the City Hall Basement Remodel project were approved and staff was authorized to advertise the project for bids.
A contract for the Shawnee Town 1929 Site Improvements project was issued to Max Rieke Bros., Inc. for $166,944.68.
A contract for professional services related to the 2017 Stormwater Management Program was awarded to Olsson Associates for $126,832.
Two contracts were awarded for the 2017 Video Inspection Services for the 2017 Stormwater Management Program. One was awarded to A-1 Sewer and Septic Services for $87,500 and the other was awarded to Mayer Specialty Services for $44,490.
The purchase of a 2017 Ford F-350 from Shawnee Mission Ford in the amount of $44,014 was approved for the Fire Department. Additionally, a custom brush truck bed and firefighting skid unit from Fry-Tek were approved for $23,250.
An Interlocal Agreement for the Coordinated Law Enforcement Records Management System (known as NICHE) was approved.
Miscellaneous Council Items
Lastly, the semi-monthly claims for February 27, 2017 (city-wide expenses for the period) were approved and an executive session was held for the discussion of acquisition of property.
