|The Shawnee City Council held its regular meeting on Monday, September 12, 2016. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following actions were taken.|
The Consent Agenda was approved and included minutes from various meetings, extension of Special Use Permits for Nallia School of Dance, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, Carol Keiffaber, and a withdrawal of a Special Use Permit for Reggie Jones. Land was accepted for public purposes for the Final Plat of Stag’s Creek located at 10816 Shawnee Mission Parkway.
Brian Bolen and Kevin Makalous were appointed to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board with terms ending on December 31, 2017.
A Cereal Malt Beverage license was approved for The Other Place located at 22730 Midland Drive through December 31, 2016. This is a new business. A Shawnee Entrepreneurial and Economic Development Agreement was approved for SS&C Solutions Inc.

The Nieman Road Right-of-Way Reallocation Plan Report was accepted and staff was authorized to proceed with the project without temporary restriping of Nieman Road and to proceed with final plans for a three-lane roadway with a side path on one side of Nieman. The Shawnee Town 1929 Strategic Plan 2015-2025 was also approved.
An Ordinance and Resolution were passed for certain storm drainage improvements and a new Fire Station. Real estate agreements were approved for the purchase of 6115 Nieman Road and 6009 Roger Road. Both are related to the Nieman Road Corridor South Storm Drainage Project (P.N. 3400). Finally, revisions were approved to Policy Statement, PS-64, Cemetery Administration.
Miscellaneous Council Items
Lastly, the semi-monthly claims for September 12, 2016 (city-wide expenses for the period) were approved and the December 27, 2016 City Council meeting was cancelled due to the Christmas holiday. The meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
