Grading Permit Applications
- Two sets of plans, prepared by a Kansas registered Engineer, shall
be submitted with the

and excavation material, and to ensure compliance with all applicable
ordinances. The requirement for plans may be waived for simple or
limited projects.
- Soils engineering and engineering geology reports are required for
all cut or fill projects in excess of 5,000 cubic yards. Recommendations
from the reports should be incorporated into the plans.
- For those fill operations where a structure will be constructed on
the fill material, a letter verifying that a qualified soils engineer
has been retained to provide reports to the building official on the
placement of structural fill shall be submitted in the application.
- Application for permit shall include a plan review fee, as specified
in the Grading Fee Schedule,
for those projects requiring plans to be submitted and reviewed prior to
permit issuance.
- Applications shall include a
$5,000 performance bond to ensure compliance in maintaining safe
conditions and keeping all contiguous right-of-ways free and clear of
mud.

application form is required to be submitted at the time of
application. All applications are made to the Codes Administration
Division.
- All applications shall note on plans the required erosion control
methods to be employed, the fill material to be used, all structures and
easements on the property, and the effects of the work on natural
drainage on adjacent properties. Fill material which includes concrete
or asphalt, or other demolition debris, shall obtain approval from the
county prior to submitting application for permit.

with all federal, state and city regulations. All required federal,
state and county permits shall be obtained prior to city permit
application submittal, and copies of those permits shall be included
with the city permit application.
